Preventive care online

Staying well is easier than getting better. A virtual visit is a simple way to talk about your health, check what screenings you are due for and get lab tests ordered close to home.

What a virtual visit can do for prevention

  • Look at the whole picture

Your history, family history, sleep, stress, activity and habits – and what they mean for you.

  • Know your screenings

Find out which checks are recommended for your age and history, and where to get them.

  • Lab tests nearby

Your provider can order tests at a partner lab and go over the results with you. See hybrid care.

  • Small changes that stick

Practical help with sleep, stress, smoking, alcohol and getting more active.

What prevention still needs in person

  • Vaccines and blood pressure checks at a pharmacy or clinic
  • Screening tests such as mammograms, Pap tests and colonoscopies
  • A full physical exam

Your provider can tell you which of these you are due for and help you plan them.

Questions about preventive care online

Can I do my annual physical online?

Part of it. A provider can review your health and order lab tests online, but the hands-on exam and some screenings need an in-person visit.

How do I know which screenings I need?

It depends on your age, sex, health and family history. Ask in a visit and your provider will make a simple list for you.

Is a prevention visit part of my membership?

Yes, it is a regular visit. Lab fees may be separate; your provider will tell you before ordering a test.
