Virtual primary care
Everyday care from a licensed provider you can reach from your couch, your desk or the road – by video or phone, usually the same day, with one simple yearly membership.
What virtual primary care is
Virtual primary care is the everyday part of healthcare – the "I think I have an infection", "I need my prescription renewed" and "is this worth worrying about?" moments – handled by a licensed provider over video or phone.
With CheckMD you pay one yearly membership instead of a bill per visit. When something comes up, you request a visit, talk to a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant, and leave with a clear plan. Your notes stay in your account, so the next visit starts where the last one ended.

What still needs an in-person visit
- A hands-on physical exam, vaccines, lab draws and imaging
- Ongoing care for complex conditions that need regular checks in person
- Anything that feels like an emergency
If you have your own doctor, CheckMD works alongside them – you can share your visit notes. A virtual visit is not an emergency service. For chest pain, trouble breathing, severe bleeding, signs of a stroke or a serious injury, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) at any time.

Questions about virtual primary care
Can a virtual provider be my primary care provider?
For many everyday needs, yes – that is what CheckMD is for. For physical exams, vaccines and tests you will still need an in-person clinic, and your provider will tell you when.
Do I need insurance?
No. The membership is the price. Read more about seeing an online doctor without insurance.
Can my family use it?
Family plans cover your household. See the membership plans.
How quickly can I be seen?
Most visits happen the same day. Request a visit and pick the earliest time.
