Why CheckMD

You have choices for online care, so here is the honest version of what you get with us – and what you don't pay for.

What makes us different

  • One price for the year

No bill every time you need help. Pay for your membership and use visits when life happens. See plans.

  • No insurance needed

Uninsured, between jobs or on a high deductible? You can still see a provider. More on care without insurance.

  • Usually the same day

Most visits happen the same day, by video or phone – no waiting room, no commute.

  • Real, licensed providers

Physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants licensed where you are. Meet our providers.

  • Prescriptions when you need them

If medicine is right for you, it goes straight to the pharmacy you choose.

  • Room for the whole family

Family plans cover your household, and employers can offer CheckMD as a benefit.

What we won't do

We won't pretend a video visit can do everything. If you need an exam, a test or emergency care, your provider will tell you straight away and help you find it.

We won't surprise you with fees for an ordinary visit. A virtual visit is not an emergency service. For chest pain, trouble breathing, severe bleeding, signs of a stroke or a serious injury, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) at any time.

See how easy it is

  1. Request a visit

Tell us what is going on and choose video or phone.

  2. Talk to a provider

Usually the same day, often within hours.

  3. Start feeling better

Get your care plan and any prescription at your pharmacy.

Questions people ask before joining

Is it cheaper than an urgent care visit?

Often, yes – especially if you need care more than once a year. One membership covers your video and phone visits instead of a bill each time.

What if I barely use it?

Plenty of members join for peace of mind. Knowing you can talk to someone today, without a bill, is the point.

Can my employer pay for it?

Yes – CheckMD works with employers and groups. Send them to who we serve.
